Mid/Senior .NET Backend Engineer [working in Portugal's time zone]

We are currently collaborating with a leading global e-commerce group, present in Asia, Europe and in the Americas. In this context, we are looking for someone with energy, a sense of responsibility, and motivation to take on the role of Mid/Senior .NET Backend Engineer , in one of the strategic initiatives we are leading with this client.

We work across various domains, including Unified Commerce, Application Development, AI (of course), and Cybersecurity, with over 1,700 professionals distributed across 12 companies in Brazil, Portugal, and the United Kingdom – through projects, managed services, squads, and staff augmentation.

Portugal serves as our service hub for the Northern Hemisphere. From here, our team supports clients in Portugal, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

In Europe, in addition to the FCamara brand as a technology service provider, we are also the main investor and shareholder of Beta-i, a leading name in the field of open and collaborative innovation.

As a Backend Engineer, you will join our Porto Team to develop internal products that power our business areas. You will pair with Product Managers and other Engineers to define, plan, execute, and foster a culture of technical excellence.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Help the team define, plan, and execute complex features. Help the team through the full lifecycle, from initial design to production monitoring, ensuring high availability and performance.

• Pair with the Product Manager and other Engineers on discovery and prioritisation. You don't just execute tasks, you translate high-level business requirements into scalable technical specifications.

• Design and implement sophisticated event-driven architectures and distributed systems.

• Create and maintain high-quality architectural diagrams and system documentation, ensuring the "technical source of truth" is always accurate and accessible.

• Act as the subject matter expert in .NET (C#), PostgreSQL/SQL Server, REST APIs

• You have 4+ years of experience building, deploying, and scaling distributed systems and high-traffic web applications.

• You possess deep proficiency in .NET (C#) and a mastery of Object-Oriented Programming and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).

• You are proficient in relational databases, with experience in optimizing complex queries and managing large-scale data sets.

• You have hands-on experience architecting background processing (Hangfire) and event-driven systems using message brokers (Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, or Kafka).  

• You view automated testing as a baseline and have experience designing CI/CD pipelines that ensure high-quality, frequent deployments.

• You thrive in a global, asynchronous environment. Your English and Portuguese fluency and communication skills allow you to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across time zones.

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into high-performance technical specifications.

• This is a remote position aligned with the time zone for Portugal, in a 9h to 18h working schedule. If local to Porto, Portugal, you might be invited to sporadic visits to the client's office. 
• This position is part of a long-term project.
• Languages: In this role, work with both the FCamara team and the client will be conducted in English and Portuguese. As these will be your working languages, it is a requirement that you are professionally proficient in these languages.
• Contract Model: We offer flexibility in the contract model. Our recruitment team will provide all details regarding contract type, remuneration, and benefits, tailored to your location and professional situation.
• Nationality, Residency and Visa: We welcome professionals of any nationality, provided they are fluent in the required language and hold the necessary documentation for hiring in Portugal or Brazil. This position does not include any VISA sponsorship or arrangements by FCamara.
